SUMMARY:Imperfect Investigations - October 10th 2026
DESCRIPTION:An intentionally small weekly gathering of philosophical investigators\, unreliable witnesses and amateur detectives of reality. \nEach week\, we open a new case: 1–3 philosophical questions suggested by attendees or chosen by the host. We’ll examine the evidence\, interrogate assumptions\, test suspicious intuitions and occasionally accuse an innocent thought of something it didn’t do. \nThe case file is posted on the event page at the end of each week. Investigate beforehand if you wish – or arrive entirely unprepared. Both are legitimate investigative techniques. \nThe number of open places will be capped to keep things small enough for everyone to question\, object\, reconsider and occasionally stare thoughtfully into the middle distance\, should they want to. \nNo expertise – and certainly no answers -required. Half-formed theories\, peculiar analogies\, tentative objections and “I’m not sure\, but…” are all admissible evidence. \nThis isn’t a lecture\, debate club or philosophical name-dropping contest. We’re here to share perspectives\, question our assumptions\, think critically and remain open to discovering that somebody else’s peculiar idea might be better than our own. \nSome weeks we’ll uncover something useful. Other weeks we’ll leave with three new questions and considerably less certainty than when we arrived. \nI like to think that’s not a failed investigation\, but my type of philosophy. \nThe goal is a good investigation\, not a final answer. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n        Event Presentation
